Silk Care
We are extremely passionate about quality fabrics and materials, and at Ivy Adonis, we ensure that all garments are made using the highest quality textiles.
Our silks are 100% grade 6A Mulberry silk, meaning that they are of the highest quality available. Ivy Adonis’s 19 momme silk has a minimum thread count of 400 making it more luxurious than others. Silk naturally keeps you warm during the colder months and cool in the warmer months however, through rigorous testing, 19 momme silk proved to meet the needs of our breathable, comfortable and relaxed design.
For many years, people have been advised to wash their silk items by hand or by dry cleaning.
Although we’d recommend dry cleaning, our silk items can be washed on a low cycle, such as delicates option. This is because our silks are of the highest quality.
-
Dry cleaning recommended
-
Machine wash – place items in a mesh bag, wash on low cycle, low spin, up to 30° temperature
-
Hand wash – wash in lukewarm water and avoid rubbing
-
Air dry but avoid direct sunlight as there’s a risk of affecting the silk fibres and colour
-
If possible, air dry on a padded hanger
-
Do not tumble dry
-
Ironing – a handheld steamer is perfect for getting creases out of your silk garments. However, if you don’t have one, you could use a traditional iron. Do it whilst your items are slightly damp. Don’t forget…the iron temperature needs to be low!
-
Detergent – use a PH neutral detergent that is silk friendly
